5 Tips and Tricks to Gaining More Traffic from Social Media

Creating and publishing content is the easy part. The hard part comes when you try and get a large audience to see this content. You can waste a lot of time and money chasing online slogans stating “ the best” or the “secret” promising you success in gaining traffic when in actuality, all you need to do is follow a few simple steps using social media. Let us look at these steps:

1. Promote Content on Social Media

Let’s say you have a brand-new blog post; immediately after you publish your blog post, you need to be promoting that post on social media. Share it with each of the networks you’re a part of and keep track of the number of clicks you receive from each social network because you’re going to promote the same blog post the next day and the day after on these networks. Promoting the same content brings us to step 2.

2. Share content multiple days

Sharing content two days in a row to social media is not going to show a significant increase but promoting it multiple days in a row will. You’ll increase visibility and clicks to this blog post. There is one MAJOR thing to remember when posting multiple days in a row the same blog post- YOU MAY NOT, I repeat, YOU MAY NOT, post the same message twice. If the first day you post on social media the blog post name with a tiny description of the post, then the next day you cannot post that description. You’ll need to change it up, maybe ask a question in your following message or cite a fact. Your audience will not want to see repeat messages because then it feels like a SPAM message.

3. Clickable images

If you have images in your content, then it’s best to make sure they’re clickable images. Almost half of the content images are not linked to anything, which is losing you traffic. People naturally want to click on pictures, and when there is no place to go, it leaves the viewer with a momentary point of confusion. Give your audience a place to go and in return receive more clicks to your content promotion.

4. Engagement

When you post content encourage comments. People love to talk about themselves or answer questions in a way to feel connected to others. Ask a question in your post to really get that ball rolling with engagement.

5. Check your stats

In the first 10 minutes of going live with your content, check your stats. If you notice your audience is really engaging within those first 10 minutes and you are receiving an abundance of clicks, then it’s time to send out push notifications and messenger bots. Within the first 10 minutes, you’ll know if the audience is live and you’ll want to capture all the potential attention.
